The sea aster is nitrogen-loving and salt-tolerant and is found on almost all the islands. It thrives best in gull colonies like the ones on Ringø and Elleore. It can be tempting to take a bunch of these pretty flowers home with you, but after a few hours in a vase they develop a repellent smell of rot.
